Why feed insects with vitamins?
All reptiles and most amphibians are unable to produce certain essential organic compounds - hydrocarbons - in their own bodies. Furthermore, they cannot absorb them in their pure form as a dietary supplement. Therefore, a suitable set of vitamins and minerals is provided to feeder insects, as they can produce these hydrocarbons in a form that is easily digestible for reptiles and amphibians.
