Why a fluorescent lamp instead of a bulb?
The fluorescent lamp provides UVB light along its entire length. Therefore, UVB light is available in a larger part of the terrarium (or throughout depending on the size of the terrarium) and that's how it should be! UVB light should be available in every part of the terrarium, not just by the heating bulb. UVB should be in both the warm and cold zones; this is fundamental knowledge for any good breeder.

UVB and UVA light in the terrarium:
It perfectly stimulates the development of reptiles from desert and semi-desert regions, emitting optimal levels of UVB for them and serves as a source of necessary radiation for optimal calcium metabolism. UVA radiation stimulates appetite, activity, and reproductive behaviors. A high level of UV radiation positively affects reptiles, which in natural conditions receive a particularly large dose of this radiation due to low humidity, lack of clouds, and the absence of vegetation that creates shaded areas. Full effectiveness up to 50cm.
