Why a fluorescent lamp instead of a bulb?
The fluorescent lamp provides UVB light along its entire length. This way, UVB light is available in a larger part of the terrarium (or throughout depending on the size of the terrarium), and that is how it should be! UVB light should be available in every part of the terrarium, not just near the heating bulb. UVB should be present in both the warm and cool zones; this is fundamental knowledge for every good breeder.

UVB and UVA light in the terrarium:
It perfectly stimulates the development of reptiles from desert and semi-desert regions, emitting optimal levels of UVB for them and providing essential radiation for optimal calcium metabolism. UVA radiation stimulates appetite, activity, and reproductive behaviors. A high level of UV radiation positively affects reptiles that, in natural conditions, receive an exceptionally high dose of this radiation due to low humidity, lack of clouds, and the absence of vegetation creating shaded areas. Full effectiveness up to 50cm.
