Why a fluorescent lamp instead of a bulb?
A fluorescent lamp provides UVB light along its entire length. This means that UVB light is available in a larger part of the terrarium (or throughout it depending on the size of the terrarium) and that’s how it should be! UVB light should be available in every part of the terrarium, not just near the heating bulb. UVB should be present in both the warm and cool zones, which is fundamental knowledge for any good breeder.

UVB and UVA light in the terrarium:
It excellently stimulates the development of reptiles from desert and semi-desert regions, emitting optimal levels of UVB for them and providing essential radiation for optimal calcium metabolism. UVA radiation stimulates appetite, activity, and reproductive behaviors. A high level of UV radiation positively affects reptiles, which in natural conditions receive a significantly large dose of this radiation due to low humidity, lack of clouds, and the absence of vegetation creating shaded areas. Full effectiveness up to 50cm.
