What is Carpet Mat substrate?
It is a natural substrate made from fibers. It serves as an ideal base substrate with universal applications. It absorbs moisture excellently, keeping the terrarium clean and providing appropriate humidity. It is resistant to extremely high temperatures. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, it absorbs animal urine very well.

Does it pose a threat to reptiles or amphibians?
The substrate is completely safe. It does not cause irritation, has a neutral pH, does not dust, and does not crumble. When using Carpet Mat substrate, there is no risk of the animal becoming impaction as can happen with sand or coconut husk.

How to keep the substrate clean and should it be replaced?
In the case of heavy soiling, the substrate can simply be rinsed under running water. There is no need to replace the substrate with a new one.

How to fit the substrate to the terrarium?
The substrate has dimensions of 45x45cm. It can be easily trimmed to any size of terrarium. After cutting, simply place it in the terrarium and position it at the bottom.

Can the substrate be topped with bark, chips, etc.?
Yes. The substrate can be topped with any terrarium and aquarium substrate. It then serves as an excellent base for absorbing urine and moisture.

What animal species is Carpet Mat suitable for?
The substrate is suitable for all species of amphibians and reptiles - both desert and tropical. It is not suitable for rodents.
