In what situations should you use the SAS Filter 500? We recommend using our skimmer especially in specific situations and types of tanks: After tank servicing – regular maintenance work in the aquarium (such as trimming plants) generates the formation of impurities on the water's surface. The skimmer will clean the tiniest remnants of stems or leaves without the need for tedious collection of pieces floating on the surface. In open tanks – the absence of a lid promotes the accumulation of layers of impurities and dust on the water's surface. The skimmer removes this problem, maintaining water cleanliness and better gas exchange. In aquariums with a high fish population – more animals in the aquarium means m.in. more uneaten food, which also accumulates on the surface of the water in the tank.
