SunSun EW as a prefilter:
Using the EW prefilter significantly impacts the cleanliness of both the main filter and the water quality. All mechanical impurities are trapped in the prefilter, which is easier to maintain than any external filter. Using pre-filtration greatly extends the time between the need to check the main filter, thus improving and simplifying the maintenance of the filtration system.

Why is it transparent?
The transparent housing of the filter allows the user to continuously monitor the internal condition of the device and the cleanliness of the filter media. Every aquarist will appreciate this impressive advantage, as it eliminates the need to open the filter for maintenance or to check the level of contamination of the inserts.

What filter media does it have?
The EW filter is standardly equipped with sponges of three gradations responsible for filtering solid particles and for developing a bacterial flora responsible for breaking down harmful compounds in the aquatic environment. Additionally, it has a biological filtration medium, which are bioballs.

Class of EW materials:
The construction uses top-class materials. The body, cover, and other plastic components are made from ABS plastic, which is an amorphous material with substantial density. It is characterized by high resistance to cracking and mechanical damage. The seals are made of rubber with an appropriate number of polyolefin chain connections, which ensure suitable flexibility and durability. The materials and original casting molds guarantee the reliability of the filter for which it was created. Filter housing closing system:
The effectiveness of sealing is complemented by an appropriate closing system. The system relies on the operation of four clips that work on the principle of a lever and latch, exerting a considerable clamping force on the filter cover, thus ensuring the tightness of the closure.

EW filter valves:
The filter is equipped with large hose connections with valves. The valves allow for shutting off the water circulation, and the system for connecting the valves to the filter housing allows for detaching the valves along with the filled hoses from the prefilter, enabling maintenance work.
