M1: stream mode, in this mode the pump generates a constant flow, water current.

M5: reef mode - the pump operates at random efficiency for a random period of time.

Additionally, the advanced LCD controller has a twilight sensor, which introduces a naturally calm operation of the pumps during the night, simulating the natural action of tidal forces. There is an option to manually turn off this mode of operation.
