Description
Paraguay Muds:
A substrate with a very wide range of applications. At the same time, its versatility does not make it insufficient in specific conditions and breeding with very specific requirements. Commonly used in professional breeding of reptiles, amphibians, and plants, as well as in zoos.
- in a tropical terrarium:
This substrate is characterized by high water absorption. It can absorb a significant amount of water for a long time and maintain high humidity in the terrarium. But that's not all! Due to its natural fungicidal properties, this substrate will not mold. Peat will behave as it does in nature, meaning it can remain moist for hundreds of years, sustaining life on its surface, such as plants or mosses. Therefore, it is recommended as the main substrate or as an addition to other substrates in humid terrariums, and even partially submerged in water.
- dry terrarium:
This substrate will absorb any liquid. This is why it is perfect for a terrarium with turtles. Additionally, this substrate allows for burrowing, which every land turtle will surely appreciate. Peat, despite its origin, does not need to be sprayed or kept constantly moist. Even when "dried to a crisp," it retains its natural properties.
- plant cultivation:
Some plants require a low soil pH. Paraguay Muds peat has a pH of 3.5 - 4.5, which is very low. This substrate can be mixed with others (even with soil) to achieve the desired pH (e.g., 5 or 6). Of course, peat, just like in nature, can serve as a standalone substrate for plants.
- for egg incubation:
Peat has everything needed for successful incubation. It maintains humidity, does not mold or rot, has good thermal insulation properties, and is soft. It is definitely a better solution than moss or vermiculite.
Fibres Gradation:
Fibrous gradation of Paraguay Muds peat. Its structure resembles a mixture of soil and a large amount of plant fibers. This allows for easy mixing with other substrates or quick laying as a homogeneous substrate. It provides the highest humidity and thermal insulation. Plants easily root in this gradation. Additionally, the substrate provides stability for decorative elements like roots, stones, etc. An additional capability is the ease of digging burrows.
Safety and freshness of substrates from the Heart of the Jungle series:
The manufacturer Terrario makes every effort to ensure that the freshly "harvested" substrate reaches you. A long storage time can adversely affect plant substrates. Therefore, Terrario uniquely utilizes fast airlines for the collection of the substrate from its natural origin.
Volume and care.
Peat is dried, which guarantees 100% efficiency in water absorption. Peat can be sprayed or even completely soaked before placing it in the terrarium. The volume in the package is 5l, but after soaking (and fluffing in the case of clumped and fibrous), the volume of the substrate is greater.
The substrate is specially dedicated for:
- All Land Turtles
- Eyelash Gecko
- Madagascar Day Gecko
- Water Dragon
- Ball Python
- Tree Frogs
