The substrate acts like a sponge absorbing urine and unpleasant odors. Therefore, it can and should be used as a supplement to the basic substrate to improve the absorbent properties of the substrate in the terrarium.
Small version of the substrate is very fine. The grain size is 1mm - 2mm. Therefore, it works well as a supplement to substrates with fine fractions such as peat, sand, or coconut fiber.
Additionally, it will work excellently as bedding for egg hatching.
