The plant gained popularity thanks to the famous aquarist Takashi Amano. It is a plant with versatile applications. It is one of the more popular lawn and background plants. Especially recommended for beginner aquarists due to its high resilience to various conditions in the aquarium. 

The plant grows quickly in good conditions. It creates a dense lawn under high lighting. In lower lighting, when planted in clumps, it is suitable for the background. Hydrocotyle does well when planted on, for example, roots. 

Hydrocotyle will also thrive in a high-humidity terrarium. However, its roots should be in water. 

A high concentration of iron will cause the plant to turn red. Therefore, it is recommended to use Neo Tabs Plant K and Neo Tabs Plant Tabs for proper growth. 

The plant can be easily propagated by cutting and inserting new cuttings into the substrate. The substrate should contain a substantial amount of macro and microelements.

When planting clumps, they should be spaced 2.5 cm apart to grow faster. 

The addition of CO2 and soft water will significantly accelerate growth. This plant can grow quickly and will require regular pruning when cultivated in appropriate conditions.
