It will require frequent trimming to prevent the lower parts of the plant from being shaded from light. Consistent trimming will encourage beautiful bushy growth of the plant.

The plant can have an emersed form, and if the right conditions are maintained, Zosterifolia will produce small blue flowers. Although Zosterifolia is very resilient, this aquatic plant blooms only with high-quality aquarium lighting and a proper schedule for macro and micronutrient dosing.

The plant can be easily propagated by cutting and inserting individual shoots into the substrate.
