The sponge media for AQUAEL filters are made of carefully selected phenol-free sponge. They guarantee efficient mechanical filtration of water while simultaneously trapping visible impurities and suspensions. At the same time, they provide a substrate for nitrifying bacteria, thereby also performing biological filtration.
It is recommended to regularly replace the media and perform maintenance only in "old" water (taken during water changes from the aquarium), which ensures their optimal operation.
