Moss komodo is natural, locally sourced - Sphagnum Moss. The special packaging, moist and wet inside, tightly sealed, ensures you receive live moss. This is a completely different product than dried, pressed sphagnum moss or, worse, dyed reindeer moss. Live moss not only serves as a moist substrate but also makes a great decoration. It provides a hiding place and a stress-free molting area, making it ideal for burrowing and digging animals; it also works well as a substrate for laying and hatching eggs. It is safe for reptiles, amphibians, crustaceans, and mammals.

Live moss, like any plant, changes color:
This is obvious! But few people realize it. Why? Because we are used to dried or dyed moss, which always has the same color. Habitat Moss Komodo can appear in various shades.

Where do the color changes in Habitat Moss come from?
The moss is kept in the shade. This method ensures its 100% viability, but without access to sunlight, the moss loses the chlorophyll responsible for its green color, which is produced during photosynthesis. That’s why you may receive moss that is less green or sometimes even red. You don’t have to worry. Moss exposed to light will change back to green.
