What type of terrarium is Carpet Mat suitable for?
It has properties that allow the substrate to be used in desert and tropical terrariums as well as in aquaterrariums.

What is Carpet Mat substrate?
It is a natural fiber substrate. It serves as an ideal base substrate with universal applications. It absorbs moisture well, keeping the terrarium clean while providing appropriate humidity. It is resistant to extremely high temperatures. Thanks to its hygroscopic properties, it effectively absorbs animal urine.

Does it pose a threat to reptiles or amphibians?
The substrate is completely safe. It does not cause irritation, has a neutral pH, does not create dust, and does not crumble. When using Carpet Mat substrate, there is no risk of animals getting impacted, as can happen with sand or coconut husk.

How to keep the substrate clean, and should it be replaced?
In case of heavy soiling, the substrate can simply be rinsed under running water. There is no need to replace the substrate with a new one.

How to fit the substrate to the terrarium?
The substrate measures 60x45cm. It can easily be cut to any size of terrarium. After cutting, simply place it in the terrarium and position it at the bottom.

Can the substrate be covered with bark, chips, etc.?
Yes. The substrate can be covered with any terrarium and aquarium substrate. It then serves as an excellent base for absorbing urine and moisture.

What species of animals is Carpet Mat suitable for?
The substrate is suitable for all species of amphibians and reptiles - both desert and tropical. It is not suitable for rodents.
