It is resistant to extremely high temperatures. Due to its hygroscopic properties, it absorbs animal urine excellently.

Does it pose a threat to reptiles or amphibians?
The substrate is completely safe. It does not cause irritation, has a neutral pH, does not dust, and does not crumble. When using Carpet Mat substrate, there is no possibility of the animal becoming impacted as can happen with sand or coconut husks.

How to maintain the substrate in cleanliness and does it need to be replaced?
In case of heavy soiling, the substrate can simply be rinsed under running water. There is no need to replace the substrate with a new one.
