Description
Unlike other similar products containing a mix of nitrates and phosphates, Flourish Phosphorus allows for the administration of phosphorus in amounts optimal for plants without the risk of increasing nitrate levels. When used as directed, it accelerates the growth of aquatic plants. It is recommended to use it together with Flourish Nitrogen and Flourish Potassium.
How to use:
Beginners: 2.5 ml (half a cap) for every 80 liters of tank capacity, once or twice a week, depending on needs. Phosphorus deficiency is indicated, among other things, by stunted growth and dark green coloring of shoots.
Advanced: the dose recommended for beginner aquarists increases the phosphorus level by 0.05 mg/l (0.15 mg/l for phosphates). The optimal level of this element may vary depending on the tank's plant population, but it usually ranges between 0.15 and 1.0 mg/l. It is recommended to check the phosphate level using an appropriate test. The following formula can be helpful in achieving the right level of phosphorus: 0.2vp=m, where v= tank volume in liters, p= planned increase in phosphorus level, m= volume of Flourish Phosphorus preparation. For example, if you want to increase the phosphorus level to 0.1mg/l in an 80-liter tank, you need to add 0.2x80x0.1=1.6 ml of the preparation.
