The lights automatically change colors. They slowly fade out and light up a new color with a pleasing gradual brightness. Moreover, each light has a slightly different color change interval, causing the colors to initially change simultaneously, then one after the other, and finally completely independently, before returning to simultaneous color changing at the end.
