Each model of the Komodo heating bulb combines the advantages of many different bulbs; such as spot heating, infrared, and neodymium. Individual models (Basking Spot, Daylight Spot, Moonlight, Infrared) differ in the balance between visible light for humans and reptiles, as well as the emission of infrared and UVA rays.

About the Infrared bulb:
The bulb emits very little visible light. The weak red light, visible to humans, is nearly undetectable for most reptiles and amphibians. Therefore, you can "spy" on the animal at night and heat the terrarium throughout the day without stressing the animal. A strong infrared beam provides excellent heating that penetrates and warms the animal from the inside.
The Infrared bulb does not emit UVA and UVB light beams, making it suitable for both diurnal and nocturnal animals.
