Description
Marigold: The above-ground parts of the plant are used to produce medicines. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and is commonly used to strengthen the immune system. Marigold is used for digestive issues, including lack of appetite, bloating, abdominal pain, colic, helminthiasis, and dysentery. It is also used for colds, mumps, and eye pain.
Rose: Dried rose petals provide a wealth of minerals and add a colorful and fragrant addition to the turtle's diet. Herbal raw materials from rose petals, due to their high vitamin content, especially vitamin C, have a general strengthening effect. They are recommended for use during convalescence, in cases of weakness, fatigue, stress, during colds, and in pregnancy. Flavonoids have a mild diuretic, choleretic, antioxidant effect, and stabilize the walls of capillaries, preventing bleeding from these vessels. The galactolipid contained in the fruits has anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic properties. The anti-inflammatory action is associated with the inhibition of leukocyte chemotaxis and a reduction in the concentration of creatinine and CRP proteins in the plasma. The anti-inflammatory effect is comparable to that of synthetic non-steroidal drugs (e.g., acetylsalicylic acid), with rose preparations not causing undesirable side effects.
Sunflower: Sunflower petals contain many vitamins that help diversify the diet of turtles and are particularly beneficial for the skin. They contain many valuable substances: triterpenoid saponins, triterpenoid alcohols, flavonoids, carotenoids, choline, bitter compounds, carbohydrates, and mineral salts. The bitter compounds contained in sunflower flowers slightly increase gastric juice secretion and improve digestion and food absorption.
