The water temperature should be set using a "control heater," which automatically regulates the temperature. For this purpose, there are rod-shaped control heaters that are permanently mounted in the aquarium (JBL ProTemp) with varying power, as well as external heaters integrated with the hose that drains water from an external filter (JBL ProTemp e) with two power options. The advantage of an external heater is that it is one less product that needs to be placed INSIDE the aquarium and the heat distribution in the aquarium is more even. Additionally, the digital display on the external heater always clearly shows the current water temperature. External heaters can also be powered by a separate water pump.
