Description
- Installation in the filtration circuit ensures a very even temperature distribution of the water with a measurement accuracy of +/- 0.5 °C and a switching interval of 1.0 °C in the aquarium.
- A flow heater, which is integrated with the hose of the external aquarium filter, making the heater in the aquarium unnecessary.
Optimal heat exchange
Most aquarium fish come from tropical waters and require a water temperature between 22 and 30 °C. In community aquariums with fish/invertebrates from different regions, the water temperature should be 24-26 °C. Only for breeding, e.g., discus, is 30°C an appropriate temperature. Many species of shrimp come from cooler waters and do not tolerate temperatures of 25-30 °C.
Heating for the aquarium
The water temperature should be set using a "regulatory heater," which automatically adjusts the temperature. For this purpose, rod-shaped regulatory heaters are available, permanently mounted in the aquarium (JBL ProTemp s) with different power ratings, as well as external heaters/flow heaters integrated with the hose draining water from the external filter (JBL ProTemp e) with two power options. The advantage of the external heater is that it is one less product that needs to be placed inside the aquarium, and the heat distribution in the aquarium is more even. Additionally, the digital display of the external heater always clearly shows the current water temperature. External heaters can, of course, also be powered by a separate water pump.
Simple installation
Cut the hose from the external filter that returns water to the aquarium, insert the external heater between them, connect it, and set the desired water temperature.
