What is Komodo CaCo Sand?

Is the sand safe?
It is the best substrate for desert animals. It reflects their natural habitat, allows for digging, egg-laying, reduces stress, and enhances the natural behavior of the animals. Can the sand be eaten?
Yes, the sand can be eaten by all species of desert reptiles. It is a natural source of calcium and is easily digested.

What if my reptile keeps eating sand?
The animal is not in danger. However, constant nibbling on sand may indicate signs of calcium deficiency. In such cases, the breeder should increase the calcium dosage or change the UVB lighting.

How to clean the substrate and when to replace it?
The sand should be spot cleaned if soiled. For sifting, we recommend Repti-Zoo Sand Scoop. The substrate should be completely replaced at least every 12 months.

Instructions for use:
A 4kg package is sufficient for an area of 60x60cm. If using a heating mat, a substrate layer above 1cm may reduce the mat's efficiency.
