The SunSun Grech CBG-800 filter features three-stage filtration involving the operation of three different filter media. Each medium has a dedicated space, and the loose media is housed in a container-basket. The filter media have a special "drawer" with a handle that allows for quick removal from the filter.
Biological filtration is provided by bio-ceramic balls of different porosity. The balls serve as a habitat for bacteria that reduce the concentrations of NH3, NH4, and NO2 in the aquarium, while also positively impacting fish health and providing natural nourishment for plants.
Chemical filtration is achieved through activated carbon, which effectively binds metals and their compounds, humic substances, pesticides, and metabolic waste products. The water inlet to the CBG-800 filter occurs via two tubes with different applications. The lower tube draws water from the closest possible vicinity of the bottom. This way, the filter sucks up impurities lying on the bottom, which are a common cause of sediment accumulation and deterioration of water quality. The second inlet is partially above the water's surface - commonly referred to as a surface skimmer. It draws water directly from the surface, removing all floating impurities and protein that is visible to the naked eye as a greasy film. This exceptionally unsightly film is highly dangerous to health and water quality; therefore, a filter that neutralizes it ensures the best and complete quality of water filtration.
The CBG-800 filter features smooth stepless flow regulation, thus performance. The regulation allows the filter to be adapted to aquariums from 38 to 115 liters in capacity.
