Pump Performance Programming
One of the options of the filter is to control the pump performance by increasing and decreasing the voltage. When using the minimum performance of 1200l/h, the filter consumes less electricity than at the maximum performance of 3000l/h. Until now, performance control in filters worked by throttling the flow with valves, which did not reduce electricity consumption and accelerated the aging of the pump.
Why control the pump performance?
With control, it is possible to adjust the filter performance to the size of the aquarium. With a wide range, it can service small aquariums starting from 120 l, but also larger ones – up to 1500 l. In addition, by changing the pump performance, the user can imitate the variable weather conditions occurring in nature in a given area.
Programming the UV lamp:
The lamp is controlled via a computer. The user can program the number of hours the lamp operates over a 24-hour period. Additionally, the computer sums the hours during which the UV lamp has worked and displays the result on the LCD screen. This allows the user to monitor the performance of the UV bulb itself.
Why control the UV lamp?
The operating time of the lamp depends on the size of the aquarium or the conditions that prevail in the tank. For example, in the case of algae occurrence or the onset of diseases, the lamp's operation may be extended.
The controller features touch controls that are fully waterproof, ensuring safety during use with wet hands.
Advantages resulting from the design and construction of the SunSun HW-3000 filter:
- UV Lamp – responsible for sterilizing the water and keeping it in good condition; kills bacterial and algae spores responsible for diseases,
- Filter Baskets – 4 filter baskets make it easier to keep the filter clean and allow for the use of various types of filter media.
- Motor and Rotor – responsible for silent operation of the pump – the rotor is ceramic and is also suitable for use in saltwater. The motor has a high energy efficiency rating.
- Body – made from top-quality materials – all plastic components are made from ABS material, which is characterized by high density, providing excellent resistance to mechanical damage and cracks. Flexible and durable rubber with an optimal number of polyolefin chain connections was used for the seals. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials, the filter reliably performs its function.
- Water Inlet and Outlet – the filter is equipped with an "aqua-stop" system that blocks the flow of water from the filter to the hoses and allows them to be detached from the filter cover, which is necessary during maintenance work. The SunSun HW-3000 has a dual water inlet – the first pipe, located at the bottom, draws water from near the bottom, and its length can be adjusted by using additional pipe segments. This allows for the suction of debris accumulating at the bottom, which often contributes to the deterioration of water quality. This element is equipped with a protective screen, so there’s no need to worry about the safety of the fish in its vicinity. The second inlet is in the form of a surface skimmer, which draws water from the surface, removing protein and impurities that lower water quality. A special plug located at the top of the inlet and outlet is used for filling the hoses, allowing for quick filling before starting the filter. The water outlet can be freely modified thanks to a large number of fittings and pipes.
