About the new Health Water filter and the old HW series:
The HW series (HW-302, 303, and 304) is currently the best-selling external filters not only in Poland. Their popularity is due to the low price combined with good quality and very large capacity. Currently, the manufacturer... SunSun introduces a new series of Health Water filters (702, 703, and 704) as an upgrade to the previous HW models. The filters are based on proven technology and a design that has been tested over the years by hundreds of thousands of users. The new HW still provides outstanding filtration with a large capacity, but their design has been improved and the filter motor has been changed. Read below for more about the differences:
What's new? What are the differences between the new and old hardware?
Already at first contact, a significant difference in the appearance of the filter is noticeable. The new shape of the outer structure is the result of the following changes introduced in the design:
- guides. So, you will always close the filter correctly.
The possibility of filter leakage at the main seal, caused by the angular placement of the cover, has been eliminated. This means that the filter can now be closed without deviation from the correct radius in the horizontal plane. The new filter has special guides that ensure the filter is closed in the proper position. Therefore, the most common leakage problem, which was essentially a user error, has been eliminated.

The main bucket, in other words the container for filter media, has reinforcing columns. This solution has its reasons, as it provides appropriate rigidity to the structure and durability. Additionally, it effectively dampens vibrations, reducing the noise of the filter's operation.

More than 90% of bucket filters have a design flaw in the hand pump. By design, it is responsible for filling the filter and hoses and is meant to help bleed the filter. Often, it is the cause of the filter becoming air-bound. It literally becomes a place where air is trapped. This leads to blockage and manifests as continuous air expulsion. Pumping or shaking the filter does little to help, and this can last for several days. Horrifying!
New Health Water avoided this problem through water flow channels and a different placement of the impeller. The air bubble no longer has its "safe" spot and is immediately "spat out" by the filter.

- new entry and exit
This element has also been modernized. Both the inlet and outlet have been equipped with a clamp for the edge of the aquarium. The set also includes hose suction cups and hose clamps, ensuring the durability of the installation.
Inlet: has modules that increase the length of the tube. Length from 15 to 60 cm.
Outlet: Shower head. It has modules. Length from 20 to 40 cm. The outlet is rotatable.
- auto switch-off UV lamp
Inside the filter housing, there is a clever device. Namely, an automatic safety switch for the UV lamp. It will automatically turn off the UV bulb, protecting your eyes and health, in case you attempt to operate the lamp with the filter open.
Sterilization with UV-C lamp:
UV-C radiation waves quickly and effectively sterilize water. They instantly kill all types of algae and algae spores, viruses, fungi, cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), and other unwanted microorganisms. Daily use of the UV lamp prevents algae outbreaks and various other unwanted surprises. The lamp has a separate switch for use as needed or according to an established preventive schedule. The housing contains a viewing window that indicates the operation of the bulb.
A large filter means better filtration.

It's not the brand, price, or manufacturer praises that make a filter good. The principle is simple: the more cartridges, the better the filter. It's worth noting that HW filters are among the largest on the market. Most manufacturers only increase the pump's power, which misses the point, but looks better on paper and convinces unaware customers. The filter should filter through filtration cartridges! And the pump's power should be appropriately matched. Too high a water flow literally flushes the filter, not allowing for mechanical, biological, or chemical filtration.
