pH tests of water show that popular ceramic and ceramic-like media on the market have alkaline values, meaning they change the pH value, significantly hardening the water. (SIPORAX 9~10, Substrate PRO 8~9).
NEO MEDIA SOFT is a filtering material that lowers the pH value. It is suitable for all aquariums where the water pH is too high, such as: planted tanks, shrimp tanks, Malawi, Tanganyika, marine tanks with SPS corals. The NEO MEDIA SOFT medium changes pH values by lowering them and maintaining a stable level of 6~7. Additionally, NEO MEDIA media come in three variants: PURE, SOFT, and HARD, which respectively: do not change pH, soften water, harden water.

The production process along with the fiber structure has allowed the creation of a medium that has different pore sizes, enabling the settling and rapid development of various types of bacteria responsible for the transformation of harmful substances.
