What can the Smart ATO Nano be used for?
- topping up water from a reserve tank to the main tank or sump
- automatic filling of tanks
Worry no more about your top-off getting stuck and overflowing your tank again. From now on, this smart gadget will keep an eye on it. Simply mount the optical sensor on any aquarium / sump / tank / bucket / jug, and it will fill the water to the eye level. No tools are required for installation. Additionally, there is no unreliable float valve (WC) that could fail.
Optical sensor and installation method:
This is a much better solution than a regular float! But that’s not all. The sensor from the AutoAqua set has a double "eye," which provides double control over the situation. The sensor is installed quickly and easily using a strong magnet. Therefore, you can install the eye anywhere. Maximum glass thickness is 12.7mm.
Protection against automatic (gravitational) overflow of water:
Previously, you had to shorten the water outlet hose to ensure it was above the water level of the top-off. Why? Because then the water flows by itself - gravitationally.
In the Smart ATO Nano, this problem has been eliminated thanks to the system's nozzle. It prevents dripping / gravity overflow of water. It will only let water through while being pumped by the included pump.
However, this nozzle has some limitations. It can "withstand" a maximum pressure of 60cm of water in the hose. That is, it cannot be placed lower than 60cm from the edge of the glass. Don't worry... no one has sumps that high. In aquariums, we also have water close to the edge of the glass, not 60cm below. So, this little nozzle will be an ideal solution for 99.9999% of cases.
Prefilter:
This is a rarely seen component in top-offs. Its purpose is obvious - it protects the pump and the entire system from debris getting through.
Comfortable design of the top-off:
Comfortable because it’s cascading - this is a significant convenience. Less cable, less installation, quick installation, easy disassembly, etc. The "heart and brain" of the device are housed in a unit that hangs on the edge of the glass like a typical cascade filter.
Additionally, you can hide the excess cable between the eye and the computer in the cascading housing. The fewer cables, the more aesthetically pleasing it is.
QST Safety Program (Quick Security Technology):
The smart top-off will not allow the tank to overflow, even in the event of a system failure. Why? If the initial filling of the tank took 10 seconds, then no subsequent filling can exceed 60 seconds. That means it allows a maximum of 6 times more than the first time. This way, we eliminate the possibility of overflowing the aquarium in case of a sensor failure or contamination, computer error, and it protects the pump from running dry in case the reserve is depleted.
Other safeguards: With the help of colored LED light signals, the computer will inform you of any potential problems. For example: improperly connected pump, conflicting readings from the eye - possible contamination of the eye, lack of filling for 72 hours, and other cases dependent and independent of the Smart ATO Nano.
