Description
- Super practical complete set for partial water changes with a siphon for aquariums 45-70 cm high with a faucet adapter.
- Automatic suction device: Creating suction through the water stream from the faucet (even if the sink is higher than the aquarium). Cleaning hard-to-reach places with the siphon: Round cross-section with a corner.
- No more need to carry a bucket of water. Easier and safer water flow, securing the hose with a clip and direct connection to the faucet.
Regular water changes
Food residues, plants, and metabolic waste burden aquarium water. Since aquarium filters cannot completely remove these substances from the water, and a large part of the impurities gets into the substrate, it is necessary to carry out regular partial water changes (approximately every 2 weeks 1/3 of the water volume). Partial water changes should always be combined with siphoning out impurities from the substrate. After a partial water change, it is essential to use a good water conditioning product like JBL Biotopol to convert fresh tap water into suitable water for fish.
How to properly clean the substrate in the aquarium?
You should move the siphon across the bottom in circular motions, inserting it into the substrate. Suction pulls the substrate and impurities up into the siphon. Under its own weight, the substrate falls back down, and only impurities are sucked out of the aquarium. In the case of fine sand, you can adjust the suction by raising the siphon so that even light sand falls back down.
If there is a long-lasting fertilizer (e.g. JBL PROFLORA AQUA BASIS) beneath the top layer of gravel, do not push the siphon all the way down to the bottom glass, but only as deep as the covering layer of substrate is thick.
Simple installation:
Connect the siphon with a hose to the suction pump at the faucet. After sucking up the sludge from the substrate, switch the lever on the pump at the faucet and refill the aquarium with water.
