Why use an island?
Every aquatic-terrestrial turtle, amphibian, or crab needs to climb onto land and take a moment to rest from swimming. Without a place to rest, we can tire out the animal. Therefore, creating appropriate islands is key in the breeding of aquatic-terrestrial animals.

Everyone can easily climb onto the bark:
The entire surface of the bark is very rough. Thus, even the most unruly turtle can easily climb onto the island.

Floats - does not sink:
The island is made of exceptionally buoyant material. Therefore, it always remains on the surface, even when weighted down. The appropriate width of the island ensures that it does not tip over when animals climb onto it.

Imitation of nature:
It is important to bring decorations and other elements as close to natural structures as possible. An animal surrounded by naturally colored products feels safer because it is confident that it camouflages well in its environment.

Food bowl in the bark:
In the bark, there is a shaped imitation of a knot. This knot serves as a food bowl, for example, for shrimp (gammarus).

Drifts like a piece of bark in the water:
The island will drift freely in the aquarium. If this is a problem for you, you can drill or pierce the island in any place to attach, for example, fishing line or nylon thread and secure the island to a suction cup or other elements in the aquarium.

Note - the island is always slightly submerged, meaning it is partially underwater. This is normal. Such initial submersion is intended to help the animal access the island more easily.
There are small vent holes in the island. They are necessary for the proper functioning of the island.
